Looking for Truth

 Wishing on a Star

“Star light, star bright

First star I’ve seen tonight.

I wish I may, I wish I might

Have this wish I wish tonight.”

If you could wish a wish come true

What wish would you wish granted to you?

 Believe in Hell?

I heard a statement this morning from Joyce Meyers on her T.V. program and it really got me to thinking that this was one of the best responses I had ever heard.

“So you don’t believe in Hell?”

Well…

“That won’t keep you from going there!”

Wow

 Please Pray for My Sister

Everybody,

In case you haven’t heard my Sister is missing.  She has been missing for over 2 ½ weeks and this is the longest she has ever gone without notifying somebody.  She has lived on the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada for at least 15 plus years.  She is a drug addict and to support her habit, she prostitutes herself.

I have told you about my nephew in previous postings and that we are going to bring him home and give him a chance to over come this lifestyle. We are looking forward to him living with us in our family.   Well, this is her Son, Dustin and he will be graduating from Boot Camp (institutionalized for juvenile bad behavior) in July.  For now all is going well with him, but this is a boy who has grown up defending his Mother.  Even when he knew she was 100% wrong – he defended her because he loved her.  This is not the time for him to know what is happening or may be happening to her.  His life is just beginning and God only knows what is happening to my Sister.

All I am asking for now is that you keep her in prayer.  She is out in the world of “missing persons” and she has some very bad people looking for her to do her bodily harm.  That is another story that is just too long to tell and must wait for another day.  I hope you can see the horrible circumstances life has dealt her and she has had to live with and that her children have had to put up with just being in her life.  I ask that you just “pray” for her safety and that the police find her soon!

Thank you so much – I know that she is in God’s hands – but prayers always help.

 Lessons in life

I read on TFD blog a bit about Self-restraint (temperance); courage (fortitude); practical wisdom (prudence) and social responsibility (justice) and I got to thinking that these are some on the toughest things to master in life.  God given challenges are never easy and I would be the first to say so.

Have you ever thought how differently we apply these words to the scenarios of circumstances in our lives?  The people we know, like or dislike are all different paths on the journey of life.

Just like answering the phone and hearing the voice of someone you like or hearing the voice of someone you don’t like – what a difference it makes.  How self-restraint (temperance) plays a part of every relationship goes without saying but even when we have practical wisdom (prudence) we still mess us from time to time and let the emotions of life take over.  The idea of social responsibility (justice) seems so much easier to handle when our views and value meet the one we need to give justice to at the time.

It seems that with all these traits that exist in our human lives , temperance, fortitude, wisdom and justice it wouldn't be so easy to let the emotions of arrogance, rudeness, pride, vindictiveness, just to name a few, distroy communication.  But that is just what these "killer" emotions do to relationships  constantly.

That is why for me and I dare say for most Christians, we know all to well our weaknesses and praise God for keeping the Holy Spirit close at hand to help us walk the pathways of life a little better.  How lost we would be without God's guiding hand and left up to our own vices.

Thank God for His "Grace and Mercy" as He continues to keep His “potters wheel” spinning.  Growth in Him is the key to being all we can be.  The journey to God and a relationship with Him is ever learning and ever spinning towards “eternal life” and the joy of being with the “Father” and praising Him forever is a journey worth taking.

How’s your journey going – find any ruts in the road?

 Why Believe in God?

To all of you who have ever met someone who didn’t believe in God or heard them ask, “Why should I believe in God?”  You just might want to quote them this little saying.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God

And die to find out there isn’t.

Than to live my life as if there isn’t

And die and find out there is.

                                      -Albert Camus

I found it great food for thought – don’t you?
