Looking for Truth

 My New Makeover

I am here to tell you that God is so good and I know from personal experience that He will never forsake you or leave you alone.  "...I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed."  Psalm 57: 1

Today I walk in the light of the "Son" and it is beautiful and warm and He has carried me through my sorrows - Amen

My New Look - what do you think? Now be kind with your remarks - I'm trusting that you will -

 Make Over Day

My Refrigerator is just like me – it needs a “make over” – and yesterday it got one.  A new fan in the freezer department and a new icemaker and Bam!  - Good as new and it cost me less than $300 – Hallelujah – Praise God because life is good all things considered.

So, I know I could use a “make over” today and I am going to get one.  I am going to have my hair cut  – color – and do a little self -pampering today.  I am going to get back to looking as good as I feel on the inside and shake off the negative and look to the positive.  Hey everybody – LookinforLucy is back and rested from her journey through the “valley of death”.

Today I need to walk in the sunshine and feel the warmth of the outdoors.  I hope you all are having a wonderful day because I am going to go outside and do what my old Mamo used to say “ get out side and blow some stink off of you.”   I loved my Mamo and I know she is walking with God and they are both giving me big “hugs” and sweet kisses.  Amen

 God knows My Limits

I have discovered that God has a sense of Humor.  I know this because He gives us different things to handle and when He is sure that “we” can’t take anymore – He sets up something ridiculous for us to deal with to welcome us back into the real world.

This week with all my stress and with all the love that has poured into this blog sight – I have known beyond a shadow of a doubt – that I was loved.  Loved by strangers I have never met – and loved and cared for deeply.  I have never been one to lean on outside help before but I want you all to know how much I leaned on your support this past 4 days.  Without your encouragement I don’t know if I would have made it through the pain.  I love you all more than you could possibly realize – My heart belongs to YOU – and my prayers for God to grant you the desires of YOUR HEARTS with be on my lips forever.

But – Now about God’s humor… Like I have said before – God never gives you something that you can’t handle and I know God knows my limitations and He knows what will kick me in the butt and move me a different direction – And HE just did that and I had to laugh how HE did it.  You see in my “little pity party” this morning I was going to eat a Chocolate ice cream bar  - and low and behold the dang thing was melted - they were all melted!  That's right - You got it -now I have to get a new refrigerator.  Mine was only 15 years old – who knew that today it also would decide to “kick the bucket”.   So like the old movie parody says  “Ice cream bar? – I don’t need NO STINKIN’ ICE CREAM BAR” – BUT   I do need a new refrigerator!

Praise God for all of YOU and for getting me back into the real world!  Bring it on - I'm ready!

In All Moments with God -

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.

Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.

Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.

Painful moments, TRUST GOD.

Every moment, THANK GOD.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts and kind words.  For those of you who called I am eternally grateful for listening while I shared my aching heart.  It is going to just take some time to heal.

(Update)  After talking to the police the evidence appears to be a drug buy gone bad, not a "hit" although they will probably never know for sure.  Reba recognized the three black dealers as trouble and yelled for the driver of the car to “move out now.”   He did but not before they shot through the back side window.   She was shot in the back of the head as they fled and was killed immediately.   She did not suffer the officer said and he hoped that information would help.  I found that it did and I was glad to hear that fact.   They really do not have much to go on besides these facts.   They do believe the driver of the car was just another “crack” buyer who happened to be driving the car and that he was telling the truth about the events he related.  He and my Sister had been together that evening drinking at a local bar and just before 5 am had went to buy the drugs together.  They will continue to look into other details but it is doubtful of a resolution.  Death comes quickly and we never know when it will happen and although we have known for years that it could happen – No one is ever prepared for this type of loss.

I am doing ok – not good, not bad, just ok. I am trusting God and leaning on Him.  Reba on the other hand, who is in heaven with God is doing even better.  Thank you God for taking her swiftly.

I love You Sis - Walk with God tonight...

I received some “sad” news early this morning as I was leaving Boise, ID. that took my very breath away.   I know that many of you know about my Sister who lived on the streets of Las Vegas, NV.   I have written about her previously.   She was the Mother of my nephew Dustin, whom we had living with us this past summer.   My Sister was a drug addict and a known prostitute.  She had lived on the streets of Vegas off and on for these past 15+ years.

Her name was Reba and she was 48 years old, 1 month and 10 days - and she was murdered last night.   She was shot twice (2) – once in the face and once in the chest.   It was an obvious “hit” because she was singled out and the other person in the car with her was not harmed.   Reba had made some major enemies and it appears that someone was out to get her.  She had worked with some of the detectives on the streets and it is hard to “snitch” and not get caught.  We believe she was caught – and thus killed.

The streets of Las Vegas are extremely mean and by that I am meaning – evil and cruel people are walking them daily.

I do not know all of the circumstances – as of yet.  Details are still coming in and I am sure will for a bit.   All I can say is that I loved my baby sister and we got to spend a week together and a few precious days this past July and August.  She had a rough life but we had a precious love for one another and the ability to laugh and enjoy our time together, however short.   She was a believer but always had a hard time believing that God would love her with her many sins.   I will continue to pray that God will grant her plenty of grace and mercy “tonight” as I have for years and that He will help mend our broken hearts.

I already miss her so much...
