Fire up the Ovens - Santa's Coming!

Just to let you all know that I am alive and well – Although I am caught up in the “giving” mode of Christmas and wrapping things for a few kids that I have some surprises planned - I  still wanted to say..

Santa will be coming soon – so don’t forget to bake the cookies (as I am doing this week) because I know that is what brings him back each and every year!   He is making a list of who has the “bestest” cookies!

Even Clint Black wrote a song on it so it must be true!

 My Grownup Christmas List

This is MY Grown up Christmas List – that we all will work together to defeat homelessness  and proverty throughout the world.  I know it sounds “ideal” – but it can happen. One person at a time. One city at a time.

We can make it happen – with so little effort – won’t you please help?  We can make it happen – what is one less toy to some compared to what it could buy for another.  You can do something. What about those canned goods just sitting in your pantry? Just think about it – Do something – please.

How often I complain because I am hungry and yet, I don't even know the meaning of the word.  Yet for some it is a way of life, to be always hungry.  May God have mercy us who have so much and continue to protect the innocent ones that suffer with so little.

Pretty Paper - Pretty Ribbons of Blue

Pretty Paper
Artist: Glen Campbell
Words & Music by Willie Nelson

Pretty paper, pretty ribbons of blue
Wrap your presents to your darling from you
Pretty pencils to write “I love you”
Pretty paper, pretty ribbons of blue

Crowed streets, busy feet hustle by him

Downtown shoppers, Christmas is nigh
There he sits all alone on the sidewalk
Hoping that you won’t pass him by

Should you stop? better not, much too busy
In a hurry, my how time does fly
And in the distance the ringing of laughter
And in the midst of the laughter he cries

Pretty paper, pretty ribbons of blue
Wrap your presents to your darling from you.
Pretty pencils to write “I love you”
Pretty paper, pretty ribbons of blue

Jesus said,

What you do to the least of these – You have done to me” – Now isn’t that some food for thought?

 Real or Memorex?

I got to thinking today about Christmas and it’s story of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior’s birth.  We all know that story and it has been told many times.   But…

What if Jesus was here in liberal California?  How would you recognize Him and know for sure He was the Messiah, as foretold in the Old Testament and back again after the New Testament?  Would you recognize Him or what questions would you ask to verify He was who He said He was?  If there was a man calling himself Jesus Christ, the Son of God on the street corner – how would you know if HE was real or a false Jesus?

Scary isn’t it – to think that in today’s world we may not even know Him if we saw Him.  I wonder how it might turn out?  Would we pay any attention to him, give him a buck or two and then walk on past or would we probably “lock” Him up in some jail or institution?  Think about the idea of actually seeing Jesus – would you know the real from the fake?

SO THIS IS MY QUESTION:  How would you know if the man on the street who is saying that He is Jesus Christ was actually Jesus Christ, the Son of God? Would you know the real from the Memorex?

 Look for the Love

God is so good  - I want you all to know that everything in this life is because – God is good and He loves you.

I had an awesome time with my Sister in Reno.  We laughed and sang and cried and laughed and sang some more.

Healing hearts takes time – but when you are healing hearts with loved ones it helps knowing that you are loved  and on this journey together with them.

Together – that is what we are my friends – together.  I thank you all for all your lovely wishes and prayers.  YOU all, have made my heart heal beyond what I thought was capable.

Thank you for allowing me time and understanding to just grieve when I so needed it – Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

NOW ON WITH THE “REASON FOR THE SEASON” AND LET’S

ALL HAVE A LOVING AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.  As I said in the being of this post …

God loves you and now YOU need to show some of that Love, especially this time of year.

Let’s start a Christmas game and BY keeping track of how many times you think “somebody” just showed you love – for no reason other than – “It had to be a God thing”   - From now to Christmas – I want you to look for the “love” in people – OK?  It might be buried deep like a treasure – or right on the surface – but – Look… Want to play?  I do – so START LOOKING – NOW…”

Come on – I will bet you will be So Surprised – Ok … Go
