"It seems the love I've known, has always been the most destructive kind. I guess that's why now, I feel so old before my time."
Yesterday, when I was young, The taste of life was sweet, as rain upon my tongue, I teased at life, as if it were a foolish game, The way the evening breeze may tease a candle flame
The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned, I always built, alas, on weak and shifting sand, I lived by night, and shunned the naked light of day, And only now, I see, how the years ran away
Yesterday, when I was young, So many happy songs were waiting to be sung, So many wild pleasures lay in store for me, And so much pain, my dazzled eyes refused to see
I ran so fast that time, and youth at last ran out, I never stopped to think, what life, was all about, And every conversation, I can now recall, Concerned itself with me, and nothing else at all
Yesterday, the moon was blue, And every crazy day, brought something new to do, I used my magic age, as if it were a wand, And never saw the worst, and the emptiness beyond
The game of love I played, with arrogance and pride, And every flame I lit, too quickly, quickly died, The friends I made, all seemed somehow to drift away, And only I am left, on stage to end the play
There are so many songs in me, that won't be sung, I feel the bitter taste, of tears upon my tongue, The time has come for me to pay, For yesterday, when I was young
Have you noticed that some people never grow up or learn to care about anyone but themselves? "Treat people like you want to be treated" - some never learn that lesson either and they wonder why they have no friends.
The devil went down to Georgia. He was lookin' for a soul to steal. He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind, and he was willin' to make a deal, when he came across this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot. And the devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said, "Boy, let me tell you what.
I guess you didn't know it but I'm a fiddle player, too. And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you. Now, you play pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the devil his due. I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, 'cause I think I'm better than you." The boy said, "My name's Johnny, and it might be a sin. But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'cause I'm the best that's ever been."
Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard, 'cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals the cards. And if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold. But if you lose, the devil gets your soul.
The devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show." And fire flew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bow. And he pulled the bow across the strings and it made an evil hiss. Then a band of demons joined in and it sounded somethin' like this:
When the devil finished, Johnny said, "Well, you're pretty good, old son, but sit down in that chair right there and let me show you how it's done.
Fire on the mountain. Run, boys, run. The devil's in the House of the Rising Sun. Chicken in the bread pan pickin' out dough. Granny, does your dog bite? No, child, no.
The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet. Johnny said, "Devil, just come on back if you ever want to try again. 'Cause I told you once, you son of a gun, I'm the best that's ever been."
Forgiveness is such a hard thing for us to do.Especially if we still feel some hurt or anguish from whatever happened in our lives that caused the pain in the first place. Many people, including some Christians, feel that they can not forgive someone because they can’t forget the pain that was experienced by the hurt.
I am telling you that “you do not have to forget” to forgive.God does not require that we forget – but He does require that we forgive.I have been thinking so much lately about my life and how I can live it better and this is the item that God laid upon my heart.Luke 6:37-42 is regarding “Judging others” and what will happen if we don’t apply this to our lives.
I believe it is all the incentive I need - What do you think?I have noticed when I have prayed to God for the forgiveness that I need and that I have forgiven those whom I need to forgive that I feel an incredible amount of peace within my heart. Do you think that maybe God planned it that way?I do.
Judging Others
37)"Do not judge, and you will not be judged.Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38)Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." 39)He also told them this parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40)A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. 41)"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42)How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.Luke 6:37-42(NIV)
So we can forgive – don’t have to forget – and just maybe we can learn from our mistakes.Learn how “not” to hurt people and especially learn how to “Love” people. After all forgiveness is all about loving and ending the hate, especially within our hearts.
