Looking for Truth

 He watches over me...

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

1         I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?

2          My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3           He will not let your foot slip—
            he who watches over you will not slumber;

4          indeed, he who watches over Israel
            will neither slumber nor sleep.

5           The LORD watches over you—
            the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6          the sun will not harm you by day,
            nor the moon by night.

7          The LORD will keep you from all harm—
              he will watch over your life;

8          the LORD will watch over your coming and going
               both now and forevermore.

Thanks Belle for this beautiful reminder that God is always in control.  It was very timely indeed and I can see why it is one of your favorites, mine too! I hope you like this song as much as I do.

 Let's have a Party

Well Guys,

As you know my Mother has been staying with me for the past 3 weeks.  I have been awfully busy trying to take care of her every wish and making her comfortable in my home.  Like I said – for the past 3 weeks – but no more – she got mad at me and threw a “hissy fit” as my old Mamo used to say and piled her belongings into her car – told me to kiss her butt and left!

Yep, you read that right – left … or “kiss my butt” to put it in Tinker language and remain a lady...lol... I have never been able to please this woman – in fact no one has ever been able to please her.  So you know what?  I have decided to quit trying!  …lol

Now, I don’t want any of you “do gooders” (because I am one) to tell me about the “good books” rules – I already know them…lol   And don’t say “pray” for her – because I am doing that also …lol  Only God knows how hard I am praying for her --- lol

So let’s just all say in unison – THANK GOD FOR HER AUTOMOBILE THAT HELPED HER LEAVE AND LET'S THROW A PARTY THAT SHE’S GONE - or... DING-DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD - WHICH OLD WITCH - THE WICKED OLD WITCH - DING DONG THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD!

I will celebrate – Today will be the first “stress free” day I have had in weeks  (in fact my life begins anew today) and I think I will sooooooo enjoy it – This little "Tinker"  is FREE – FREE AT LAST --- THANK GOD I’M FREE AT LAST! …lol lol lol lol

 Off to see Dustin

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick note to say that I will be gone for the weekend.  I am off to see Dustin, my nephew and visit him in prison.

If you recall, he got 1 to 2 years for auto theft and has served almost a year so far – we hope that his time is almost up but until we get notified – we are visiting him and keeping the family ties tight.  My hubby and I have stepped in and sort of adopted him as our family, being my Sister, his Mom, was murdered last year.  We hope that by our support his transition from prison to the real world will be easier and his new life with us will be more normal.  We feel that God has called us to be there for him and we have grown to love him so much.

He has made wonderful progress and has seen that prison life at age 20 is not what he wants to do ever again. We are teaching him what "normal" life is about - something he has never known - living on the streets of Las Vegas.  Prison life doesn't want you to enjoy the stay there – and believe me – he has not liked it one bit. He has worked hard to accept his faults and to change his future with schooling and working within the system.

Anyway – until May or sooner, if he is lucky, he will be there – then and only then will he get the chance to change his life forever and upgrade his future upon his release by his actions and not just his talk.  As I have stated several times in other posts – his life has been an uphill battle of survival to say the least and we hope that by our support – He can flourish and succeed and be what God has designed him to be and complete whatever purpose God has in mind for his future.

As always, I ask that if you are so inclined – to please pray for a safe trip to and from for us and to always pray that Dustin succeeds in his reach for a wonderful future of success.

My love and best wishes -   Lookin

 We can solve this...

big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Louisiana. He shot and
dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side
of a fence.

As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on
his tractor and asked him what he was doing.

The litigator responded, 'I shot a duck and it fell in this field,
and now I'm going to retrieve it.'

The old farmer replied, 'This is my property, and you are not coming
over here.'

The indignant lawyer said, 'I am one of the best trial attorneys in
the United States and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue
you and take everything you own.'

The old farmer smiled and said, 'Apparently, you don't know how we
settle disputes in Louisiana . We settle small disagreements with
the 'Three Kick Rule.''

The lawyer asked, 'What is the 'Three Kick Rule'?'

The Farmer replied, 'Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, I
get to go first. I kick you three times and then you kick me three
times and so on back and forth until someone gives up.'

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided
that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the
local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to
the attorney.

His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel toed work boot
into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees.

His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyer's last meal gushing
from his mouth.

The lawyer was on all fours when the farmer's third kick to his rear
end, sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his
feet.

Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, 'Okay, you old
fart. Now it's my turn.'

The old farmer smiled and said, ' Nah, I give up. You can have the duck!
