Looking for Truth

 Love hurts

I wonder why we all want Love so much in our lives.  Because when you think about it -  it is our Loved ones that are the only ones who can hurt our hearts so deeply that we weep.

This is what was put on my heart today, as I see others ripping out peoples hearts and chewing on them as if they were hated enemies.

Maybe in some ways we are better off without Love...–

The lyrics – Love Hurts - Love hurts, love scars, Love wounds, and marks, Any heart, not tough, Or strong, enough To take a lot of pain, Take a lot of pain Love is like a cloud Holds a lot of rain Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts Im young, I know, But even so I know a thing, or two I learned, from you I really learned a lot, Really learned a lot Love is like a flame It burns you when its hot Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts Some fools think of happiness Blissfulness, togetherness Some fools fool themselves I guess Theyre not foolin me I know it isnt true, I know it isnt true Love is just a lie, Made to make you blue Love hurts, ooh,ooh love hurts Ooh,ooh love hurts I know it isnt true, I know it isnt true Love is just a lie, Made to make you blue Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts

 Your Memory Bank

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.

His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.  As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.  'I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'  'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied... Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away... Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.  I am still depositing!

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

 A Life Lesson

Today, I was reading from the Bible.  As I did a verse just jumped out and spoke to me like never before.  Now this isn’t the first time I have read this passage – but today this verse just sprouted wings and flew directly into my heart.  I had a major “ah-ha” moment.  I have always liked the phrase “walk your talk” and I have always tried to do exactly that in my life.  This is what I read:

Luke 6:43-46 (NIV) - A Tree and Its Fruit

43) No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44) Each tree is recognized by its’ own fruit.

But then when I got to verse 45 – and read this

“The good man brings good thing out of the good stored up in his heart and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his hear.  For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks”

I just knew that God wanted me to remember this verse.  Not only am I to watch how I conduct myself in this lifetime but also I am to guard my thoughts so that they will not poison my heart.  If my heart has evil in it – my mouth will spew it out.

Wow!  Now tell me that isn't a warning for a life lesson?

 Have a great Week-end

Have a fantastic weekend – we are getting plenty of needed rain in the Central Valley and our snow pack is climbing – that is great news for the skiers.

Salute - Let the memories roll...

There are just days – when you need a song like this to make you happy and laugh at yourself – Some tragedies are just made for the phrase

“set em up again! – Joe”

Today I am toasting my "Sister" and remembering the good times -

Let em roll on...Sing it Blake - sing it!
